Helicopter Training Courses
Get started with THE BASICS Course.
During this two-hour course you learn the basic flight maneuvers like flying level, turning, climbing, descending, landing and hover.
THE BASICS helicopter course costs $59.00.
Take one or several mission based courses, like navigation and mountain flying. The courses are primarily designed to show you how much fun aviation is, but also what the challenges of aviation are. All courses are tailored for non-aviation experienced participants. As such, no studying is required. Because all courses are given by real FAA certified instructors, you will learn the real world skills without the pressure and price tag of real flying.
Get a feel for the controls while learning the basic flight maneuvers. Fly a traffic pattern, land and hover on the runway with the guidance of the instructor.
THE BASICS Duration: 2 Hours Cost: $59.00
Requirements : THE BASICS
Practicing Traffic Patterns is the first stage of flying. It will increase your proficiency level during all phases of flight and especially takeoffs and landings. You will also learn how to use checklists and do radio communications. This course is probably the most intense one of them all: There are lots of new tasks to learn in a very short period of time. Get through it, and the door to aviation will open up for you.
TRAFFIC PATTERN Duration: 2 Hours Cost: $69.00
Requirements : TRAFFIC PATTERN
Now that you are proficient in traffic pattern operations, it is time to depart and fly to another airport. Before takeoff, you will learn how to do basic flight and fuel planning, use aeronautical charts, and also learn more about airspace.
NAVIGATION Duration: 2 Hours Cost: $69.00
Requirements : TRAFFIC PATTERN, NAVIGATION
Takeoff from Laconia Airport New Hampshire and fly through the breathtaking White Mountains. Learn how to navigate in the mountains, approach mountain passes and check your aircraft performance.
MOUNTAIN FLYING Duration: 2 Hours Cost: $69.00
Requirements : TRAFFIC PATTERN
What happens if you fly into a cloud? The average pilot will crash an airplane after only 180 seconds! Learn the basics of instrument flying and get yourself out of the clouds safely.
INSTRUMENT FLYING Duration: 2 Hours Cost: $69.00
Requirements : TRAFFIC PATTERN, NAVIGATION
All right, you primarily want to fly to do some sightseeing to discover the landscape. But what if the weather moves in faster then expected? Will you be able to maintain your situational awareness in low visibility? Learn how to deal with Thunderstorms, Fog, Low Ceilings and Low Visibility.
WEATHER Duration: 2 Hours Cost: $69.00

Sounds simple: Adjust your payload and take enough fuel with you to make it safely to your destination. Why then are so many pilots running out of fuel? Face a flight with "Get-There-Itis", weather/wind and diversion, will you still make it? This course is all about fuel managment: Apply the skills learned of the previous courses and meet the challenges of flight planning and weather.
